Covering an area from the top of Central Station in the south, to Circular Quay in the north, Sydney City has an excellent public transport system.

To move around the City, you have a wide range of options.

Sydney Buses operates an extensive network of bus services throughout the City. The main bus terminals are located at Circular Quay, Wynyard, Town Hall and Central Station.

Metropolitan Services
CityRail has a large range of leisure and tourist tickets to get you where you want to go. You can travel around the City centre on the City Circle Line (Circular Quay, Wynyard, Town Hall, Central, Museum and St James Stations). There is also a station at Martin Place. Ticket vending machines are open 24 hours. Information about CityRail services is available from:

Interstate and Intrastate Services
Central Railway Station is the main junction for interstate and intrastate rail services. Information about these services is available from:

One of the most delightful ways to make your way to and from the City is to take a ferry on Sydney Harbour. Information about ferry services is available from:

Light Rail
Sydney Light Rail is Sydney's newest transport system. Modern trams run from historic Central Station through vibrant Chinatown and Darling Harbour to the Star City Casino, the Sydney Fish Markets and Wentworth Park 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The monorail has a fabulous "city" loop with eight stops throughout the CBD. The monorail leaves every 3-5 minutes and it takes approximately 15 minutes to do the circuit. There is an abundance of taxis that can be hailed down from the street, or engaged at ranks at Circular Quay, Wynyard Station, and Town Hall Station. If you wish to book a cab, ask your hotel concierge.

Tourist Services
Sydney offers a range of transport services for visitors to the City.

Airport Express
Two Airport Express bus services operate 7 days a week between 6:00am and 10:00pm.

The Airport Express 300 operates between Sydney's International and Domestic Airports and the City Centre, including Town Hall, Wynyard and Circular Quay.

The Airport Express 350 operates between Sydney's International and Domestic Airports and Oxford Street Darlinghurst, Kings Cross and Potts Point.

The CityHopper
The CityHopper ticket gives visitors to the City unlimited all day train travel on CityRail services in the area bounded by Kings Cross, North Sydney and Redfern and unlimited bus travel on Sydney Buses in the City Centre, Darling Harbour, Moore Park and Kings Cross.

The Sydney Explorer
Sydney's only guided bus tour, the Sydney Explorer bus makes a 35km circuit of all the major attractions in the City, The Rocks, Kings Cross, Chinatown and Darling Harbour. One day tickets, available from the driver, enable passengers to board and leave the bus at any one of its 22 stops. Buses operate at 20 minute intervals from 9:00am daily.

The Sydneypass
The Sydneypass (available for three, five, and seven days) provides unlimited travel within a seven day period on all CityRail trains within a bounded area, on Sydney Buses and on all Ferries, including premium services and cruises.

The DayRover
The DayRover gives unlimited all day travel on CityRail trains within a bounded area, Sydney Buses and Sydney Ferries.
